Peter grew up in rural Connecticut, spending his summers on the Maine coast and in the Rangeley Lakes region. Peter graduated from Sterling Institute (AA); from Wesleyan University (BA) and from the University of Connecticut School of Law (JD). He also attended Exeter University in England and the University of Maine School of Law in Portland.
Before establishing The Law Office of Peter J. Kaynor, LLC, Peter worked for the National Audubon Society in Washington, D.C.; for the law firm of Fulbright & Jaworski in London, England; for Aetna Life and Casualty Insurance in Hartford, Connecticut; and as a trial attorney with Joyce, Dumas, David & Hanstein in Mexico, Maine; Kaynor & Kreckel in Rumford, Maine and Kaynor & Berryment in Mexico, Maine.
Peter is a past-president of the Oxford County Trial Lawyers Association and is the current president of the Oxford County Bar Association. He has practiced law for twenty five years and is licensed to practice in all State and Federal Courts in Maine and before the United States Supreme Court.
He and his wife, Sandy, live with their three dogs in Peru, Maine. When he is not practicing law, Peter enjoys fly fishing, boating, bird hunting, cooking and spending time at their rustic log cabin in the woods.
